The Good Shephard, Inc. is a New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) approved and regulated non-profit agency. We provide supportive habilitation services to people with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help them attain individual life goals and remain in the community, living as independently as possible.

Our Services

  • Respite

    Caring for others, while rewarding, can be exhausting. Respite services provide temporary relief from the demands of caregiving, enabling families to better meet the needs of their loved one(s).

  • Community Habilitation

    Community Habilitation Is a Medicaid funded program operated under OPWDD to provide 1:1 training to people with developmental disabilities to enhance the skills needed to successfully live more independently.

  • Day-Hab Without Walls

    Taking place at varying certified sites, Day-Hab services can assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, or improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills including travel and adult education.

  • Housing Subsidy - Independent Living

    OPWDD supports people to live as independently in the community as possible by assisting with housing costs in the form of a housing subsidy.
